Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a good summer. :)

PodCamp Ohio 2010
I wanted to see if any of you would be interested in taking a lead organizing next year's PodCamp Ohio. Unfortunately with my current schedule, I'm not sure when I will have the time to devote to organizing anything for at least 3 months. I also think that if someone else was the main lead we would get some new/fresh ideas and energy into next years event!

Here are the big items that need leadership:
  • Lead contact for coordinating the event - He/she will work with the venue, set the event dates, put together event maps, make rooms available, etc...
  • Lead contact for sponsors - He/she would be a lead point in obtaining and working with sponsors.
Whom ever takes on these tasks will have the most responsibility between now until the event. At this early stage, the only things you'll need to work on between now and January is getting the date reserved and putting together the sponsorship information sheets. One organizer can handle both of these, but I would recommend splitting these responsibilities between two organizers so you don't get stressed out.

If you decide (which I recommend) to use Mendenhall Laboratory at OSU again for next year's PodCamp, you'll be working with Doug Dangler. I would also recommend targeting the same summer break weekend at OSU since the campus was very empty and easy to get around that weekend.

Once the ball gets rolling and a date is set for next year's PodCamp Ohio, other sub items can start such as...
  • Making the 2010 web site (I'll continue to host the site, we'll just need a new WordPress theme to freshen it up)
  • Start promoting the event
  • Soliciting sponsors
  • User Registration
  • Session management
Please let me know if you would like to take on either of these tasks so we can start to get PodCamp Ohio 2010 going.

PodCamp Pittsburgh
I will be going to PodCamp Pittsburgh 4, coming this October 10th. If anyone from the Columbus area would like to ride with me, I'll be leaving late Friday evening. I may return Saturday night or Sunday morning depending if who ever decides to come with me's schedule. If you're interested in coming, please shoot me a direct email, ang...@podcampohio.com.

Thanks everyone,
Angelo
