Maybe I missed them, but do we have suggested podcamp ohio blog  and twitter tags set up so people can follow along?

what do you mean by blog tags?

Twitter, we have podcampohio setup and Brandice made a sign we're going to post throughout the school on the walls.

Flicr, thinking of suggesting users tag photos with podcampoh.

I would like to suggest that you use a single tag for all places...

Since you have "PodcampOhio" for twitter, I would suggest podcampohio all spelled out as the  "OFFICIAL" tag for all social networking tagging for the weekend's events.

Just a thought

I like that except for twitter. Typically people use #pcohio or something at the end of all twitter posts related to, say, Podcamp Ohio so we anyone can follow along. It needs to be short, so I can use a twitter search engine to follow all conversation related to podcamp. Make sense? But we need to post on the blog today suggested tags for blogs and twitter so we all know.

In previous Podcamps, there has been setups where anyone who who sends a @ msg to the Podcamp twitter ID that it would AUTOMATICALLY post to the Podcamp Twitter Status.

For example, At Podcamp Boston, they had twitter.com/podcamp

At 11:12 AM on October 28, 2007, I posted the following tweet status on my twitter account:

@Podcamp Neil Gorman is talking about HOW NOT TO GET PODCASTING BURNOUT 204b

Here is how it showed up on the Podcamp User Status Page:

We have a pool that people can put their photos in for Flickr as well.

How is that set up?  I have no idea how to do that.  Also, it sounds like a slippery slope... I'm not sure I would want all those messages going into that official feed since we want to use it for announcements.

I could set up a Twitterfeed where anytime anyone  twitters "@PodcampOhio" it would go into a new twitter account especially for that.  I'll work on that when I get down there in a few hours.  We could call it @PCOhioTalk ?

Twitter's down, but as I mentioned, I'll work on this when I get down there.

I've been to three other podcamps and all of them had a single twitter id used for official announcements as well as the twittercasting all rolled into one.

So far, I know of @PodcampOhio and @PodcampCheckin(S) or something.  Now you are considering a 3rd twitter id.

I'm not against the idea, but feel that with each additional ID you add, there is a greater chance that not everyone at Podcamp will be clued into all the free flowing content passed along on twitter throughout the event.

I'll follow whatever you guys decide.  I can't wait to meet you all!

I wasn't suggesting we add a third. I've not seen how the single id works. Most people I follow just go to conferences and post #Conf in each post so you can search for it later. That's all I was asking. It's fine, we can use @PodcampOhio, I'm just not sure how to do it.

I just put out a tweet to see how they did it for @Podcamp

I know that one thing that could be done is simply to do search on Summize for any messages sent TO:PodcampOHIO

Here is the current result:
http://summize.com/search?q=&ands=&phrase=&ors=&nots=&tag=&lang=all&from=&to=podcampohio&ref=&near=&within=15&units=mi&since=&until=&rpp=15

Then you can grab the rss feed for that search here:
http://summize.com/search.atom?q=+to%3Apodcampohio

Then you could use TwitterFeed.com and have twitter feed check the above rss every 15 minutes and auto post the most recent 5 updates to the podcamp ohio feed OR another account if you like.

Or you could just tell people to put a shortcut on their phones to the summize search query from above.

The cool thing about the auto posting is that I would get SMS each time someone posted to the acct.  But I'm cool with whatever.

Hope this is helpful.. If I get anything back from the Podcamp Boston folks on a more efficient setup, I'll let you know.

I don't think we should use the primary account and hash tags will be a pain with tracking broken on Twitted right now.

Let me see what I can come up with.
