Good evening, Podcampers. I have a few updates for you, as well as a few requests.
I'll start with the requests.
1. Reach out to your network and encourage them to sign up for your session. Online registration closes April 24, only so we can begin organizing the schedule to have it ready to print. The sessions with the largest number of signups get the larger rooms. They also get more glory.
2. One of the best ways to complete request No. 1 is to sign up for the Blog Tour. If you're promoting your session on a blog (yours or someone else's) let me know. Podcamp is ready to help you spread the word!
3. You should also promote your session on whatever channel you frequent most, be it Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube, or whatever. Well, maybe not Pinterest.
WHEW! Now that THAT is out of the way, here are a few updates.
- As previously mentioned, online registration closes April 24. That doesn't mean people won't be allowed entry to your session. It just gives us a ballpark figure from which to build the schedule.
- Doors to Podcamp open at 8 a.m. March 4. Un-keynote (if we secure one) will be around 8:30-8:45. Sessions begin at 9 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m., with a Social Media Club panel at 3 p.m., and afterparty starting officially starting at 4:30 p.m., although it can start as early as 3 p.m. We're checking to see if we can get Hotel Preston to open the bar that early.
- I'd recommend you buy your lunch in advance if you're planning to stay beyond your own session. Hotel Preston is a new venue, and they want to know how many meals to prepare. Honestly, there aren't many good options nearby, unless you count the Phillips 66 gas station near the Hotel Preston entrance on Briley. But I wouldn't.
- Of the 6 rooms, only 4 will have audio. The two smallest rooms will be, um, intimate. Please see No. 1 above.
- There is a copy of the floorplan attached to this post, just to give you a feel for the layout. May or may not stay exactly that way, but it will probably be close.
- I think I'm going to order the California Club sandwich in advance. It's got bacon, but it's on a croissant. I don't speak French, but I do speak bacon.

Should we bring speakers to plug into our computers (if presentations include audio) or do we just need 1/8 to 1/8 audio cables to connect to the projector's audio?

Speaking of connectors. I understand we are to bring our own...what type of connectors do the projectors have? Standard VGA? DVI? Other?

I would recommend bringing speakers. The projectors won't have audio. The audio setup is separate, and I am not sure whether they are 1/8 or 1/4.
