Loukas,

Thanks for asking about this problem. I work with this interface a nice amount and hopefully can help you out.

I am not sure on what the issue is in this case but when this happens to me it is normally due to Xming not being open in the background. The error that triggers me of this is the line in your code that says "X Error of failed request:  BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)"

When you click on the Xming application it will open up but will not have any window on the screen. It will only show up down in the lower right hand corner of windows. You should open up Xming before you begin to open Putty. I think this will likely solve the issue.

It is also possible that in putty the "Enable X11 forwarding" box is not checked. You will see this step in the setup process (http://www.pocketnc.com/windows) as the first major picture in the tutorial.

Let me know if this doesn't fix the issue and we can continue to troubleshoot what may be causing this problem.

Thanks Michael for your answer but as I mentioned I have a Mac and not a Win machine.
However, I managed to complete the software installation and run AXIS.

It seems that as soon as I enter the "PocketNC" command, I had to bring Xterm window in front in order to see AXIS

Below are the settings on XQuartz:

Hello Michael,

It seems that I have a similar issue, this time on macOS Catalina 10.15.17
I follow the updated instructions for ethernet setup I found here: https://pocketnc.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PNFUR/pages/1271300149/V1+Setup+Tutorials

StaticIP set for ethernet port as you can see at the screenshot below
Screenshot 2021-04-28 at 00.27.59.png

From X11 I run "ssh -Y pock...@192.168.0.77" and enter the password "pocketnc"
SSH connection seems to work and I can even open the  MachineKit Configuration Selector as per instructions.

Unfortunately cannot establish a connection with the machine and AXIS won't start even at the background.

Please see screenshot below from terminal.
Any suggestions?

Hi Loukas,

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with connecting to your machine!

We have not done much troubleshooting with V1 machines and the newer MacOS versions so this could take a little bit of back and forth. It would probably be best if you reached out to us at ser...@pocketnc.com so that we can get a service case started for you.

Thanks!
