I would like to hear from a few people who have bought and used the machine.

Were you able to make the parts you wished with the tolerances you wished?

Was the support from Pocket NC Company adequate?

any other comments?

I purchased my machine (V2) a few months ago and have been using it primarily to learn 5 axis CAM and prototype small aluminum parts.  I also own a Tormach 770 and more recently an 1100M (due to be delivered soon).  I've worked as a machine operator in an industrial setting in the past, so I have a decent amount of experience with these things.

The Pocket NC (especially the V2) is really good at being what it's meant to be.  That said, it's not a Haas UMC, either.  It'll do essentially anything that you want it to do, given that it'll fit in the (tiny) work envelope and you give it enough time.  It cuts aluminum better than it has any right to, for it's weight.

The biggest issue is effectively using the available work envelope, which is true of any 5 axis machine.  I'm working on a dovetail workholding system which should improve things considerably.  the collet system also works well for small parts that'll work with 1" round bar stock.

ultimately what you get out of it will depend heavily on what you're able to put into it.  it does exactly what they say it does, probably a lot better than anyone who has run a larger machine would expect.

Hi.
Thanks for your explanation.

Please tell me, can the machine make micro gears?
I mean very tiny gears that are used in medical instruments.

Given an email and I can send you pictures and plots.

Thanks, dear friend

I was a gear engineer for many years. When you say "micro" gears, what module size are you referring to? As far as the Pocket NC, it is very capable of tiny gear manufacturing with tools as small as 1/64 (0.4mm) and even smaller.

Dear Rose
Thanks for your answer

The outer diameter of the gear is 4 mm
The module is 0.2

Please give me your email so I will send you a plot with complete detail and dimension.
