Hello,

Just got my PocketNC last week with the new spindle.
It's been a bit of a challenge getting it to work, as the Beaglebone needed to be replaced.
Easy to do once we knew that's what we needed to do.

All the software to communicate with the PocketNC works now, but when attempting to install Fusion 360, my OS is just a bit behind.

The current download of Fusion wants OSX 10.9 and I am on 10.8.5.
I cant upgrade my OS without screwing some other software that I need.

So, does anybody have an earlier version of Fusion 360 that they can make available to me. (I cant tell from the AD website what the current version # is)

Thank you in advance

We asked one of our contacts at Autodesk and he said that previous versions aren't available.   Sorry about that!  I know how upgrading your OS can be an issue...

Thank you.

As its Cloud software, I guess its by design that we cant get at earlier copies.
So I upgraded to 10.11.6.

Now I have all the problems that Martin and Erics had with 10.11.4.

I attempted the sudo entries suggested by Xander and none of them worked.

Here is my terminal output......any suggestions?

Robert,

My experience with setting-up a HDMI screen is generally good, as the solution to this issue.
Dont know how strapped for cash you are, but to me, getting a screen for the PocketNC has been the solution.
I got the Tempus screen and keyboard, but I am returning it to get a bigger screen, a 10" from Adafruit.
I got started on cutting small stuff, slowly, so having to load the program with a USB stick has not been an impairment, for I have many steps to align properly, which require much more time.
I trust that with time, the issue will get sorted out, and until then, I can progress in the areas I have control over...

As per your upgrade, I wonder if it would have been possible to run a virtual machine on your 10.8 machine, and run a version of Windows that can support Fusion in it?
Dont know if this would be effective. Theorical question now that you have upgraded...

Martin,

Aside from the psychological frustration of having it work fine in 10.8.5 and not in 10.11.6, I am also dealing with the fact that the Spousal Unit is not at all pleased with my expenditure this month in the Misc category. So further toys are not an option.

However, I may be able to find a few pennies for cables to get old equipment to work.
I have an old Dell 2001FP flatscreen that has 4 USB ports (2 on side and 2 under)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/182228911933

Can I get access to those USB ports through the monitors DVD-D to HDMI cable? For mouse and keyboard.

Then its just a 8$ cable for me.

I dont know enough about HDMI capability.
I did find some resource, in the Beaglebone wiki pages...http://elinux.org/Beagleboard:BeagleBone_Black_Accessories#Monitors_and_Resolutions
Let us know what you find out.
