Hi Lynmarie,
I just completed a survey form, thanks for the heads up. I like that it was possible to scan through the results to date at the end. 97% of respondents think it is important to be informed about water quality - that's refreshing! 75% use water for fishing, 72% for swimming and though I can't remember the number, the percentage of folks concerned about natural gas extraction was high as well. This is good info. Keep at it!
Is it possible to get a rough number of total respondents to put these percentages in a framework in my mind?

Take Care,
Kevin

Hey Kevin,

Thanks! At this time we've got about 120 respondents. It's not a terribly impressive number, but we have been pretty thorough in our efforts to get the survey disseminated. So, we're trying our best.

So far we have a PSA on the radio about the survey, we've sent it out as an insert in the Pocahontas Times (most of our responses have actually been mailed in, but folks can also drop them off at newspaper vendors throughout the county), we've linked to the survey on Facebook, we've distributed the survey at town festivals (we'll be at Autumn Harvest and Huntersville Tradition Days too) and we have community meetings scheduled at all the county libraries in Sept. & Oct.. So, we'll hand out surveys at these meetings as well.

If you can think of any other way we can encourage more people to participate, please feel free to share!

Good to hear from you,
L

Lynmarie & Clay,

That was easy (survey monkey). Thanks for all that you are doing for the community!
