It is my duty to inform you that PoBoL is Deprecated. In the fast
moving field of synthetic biology data exchange standards... well..
The acronym was just that. Provisional.
So the project, idea, motivation inspired growth and evolved to a new
acronym SBOL which stands for Synthetic Biology Open Language
Under the greater umbrella SBOL (the new cool acronym) the Synthetic
Biology Data Exchange working group continues the mission to develop
electronic standards for synthetic biology.

Within this community the PoBoL begat the SBOL core data model and
Semantic SBOL, its implementation using Semantic Web standards. It is
joined by SBOL Visual and SBOL Script. All hail modified acronyms!
