Dear PoBoL,

It is my duty to inform you that PoBoL is Deprecated. In the fast
moving field of synthetic biology data exchange standards... well..

The acronym was just that. Provisional.

So the project, idea, motivation inspired growth and evolved to a new
acronym SBOL which stands for Synthetic Biology Open Language

Under the greater umbrella SBOL (the new cool acronym) the Synthetic
Biology Data Exchange working group continues the mission to develop
electronic standards for synthetic biology.

Within this community the PoBoL begat the SBOL core data model and
Semantic SBOL, its implementation using Semantic Web standards. It is
joined by SBOL Visual and SBOL Script. All hail modified acronyms!

PS. And there are now more spam postings then real ones, i now ask the
owner to shut down new postings, and try to keep the old ones for
posterity.

Thanks Michal! That note was overdue.

Sorry about the spam, my own mail account was apparently filtering it out before
I saw it. I've closed membership and tried to kick out the spamming members.
(not sure whether I got all of them).

Pobolists, those of you who have signed up earlier can still post messages. But
please move over to synbiodex instead! As Michal wrote, SBOL is the new umbrella
for our data exchange efforts. The SBOL data model and Michal's SBOL-semantic
RDF implementation of this data model are based on PoBoL. So our PoBoL work was
not in vain -- Thanks for your efforts! Please, drop by on the SBOL page and see
where you can help!

Greetings!
