1- Evaluation of Strabismus: Understanding and diagnosis
This covers the basic understanding of strabismus, covering Correspondence, horopter, Panums’s area, Stereopsis, Sensory and Motor adaptations, Visual assessment in children, Sensory and Motor Evaluation in strabismus including AC/A ratio and Hess and Diplopia charting.
2- Common Surgical procedures in Strabismus:
This talk covers the planning and dosing of surgery in concomitant strabismus showing videos of horizontal recession and resection, adjustable surgery, management of A-V patterns, Inferior oblique weakening procedures, Superior oblique weakening procedures like PTSO, SO tucking and Harada Ito procedures.
Symposium:
3- Management of Paralytic strabismus:
This covers a basic understanding of Paralytic strabismus and then specifically about Abducens, Oculomotor and Trochlear nerve paralysis and their management. This will also cover relevant videos including Periosteal fixation and Partial VRT.
4-Management of Restrictive strabismus: including Duane Retraction syndrome Brown syndrome CFEOM and Thyroid eye disease. Also including videos on loop tenotomy and management of Aberrant regenerations and talk about of CCDD.
5-Management of Childhood Nystagmus: Including Diagnosing common types of Nystagmus in childhood and their specific management, covering Infantile Nystagmus syndrome, Fusional maldevelopment,(Manifest and Manifest-latent), spasmus nutans, PAN. Surgical video for Augmented Anderson procedure.
6- A Quiz based teaching: A dozen shots, (if time permits). 15 minutes.
