For Sale: Alpha 8406 6m amp.

I bought this new many years ago. I'm the only owner. No problem with 1500w out. It handles Q60 transmissions all day long. It has a 4CX1500B tube. I recently worked Lance in 3B9 on this amp receiving a -16 report. It has two problems: 1) needs a new fan. The fan cools fine but it puts out a birdie. 2) there is no thru connection to antenna when turned on and in standby mode. The thru connection is fine when the amp is off. If I were younger, I would fix both issues :)

Hi Bob,

I had a problem with RFI from cooling fans in my M2 6M1K2 amp. All was solved by
installing some small clamp on ferrite chokes over all the wires that were outside of
the shielded chassis.
