Hi Everybody;

Earlier today NOAA’s GOES-15 satellite detected a high integral flux alert. NOAA issued an ALTEF3 alert at 1612UTC (for more details see message blow). The high integral flux enables the 15m and 17m bands to open up briefly.

The new alert is a storm watch and it predicts G1 minor storm for Oct. 19. During the time of the alert is in effect (18-20 of Oct.) the Geomagnetic activity will rise to Kp=4 several times while solar wind from the sun rushes past our planet.

Conditions at the MDSR test station were quiet during the night period, but have picked up since the Integral Flux Alert was issued

The solar flux, which was at 72 has flatted out again and is now sitting at 70. The new double sunspot (2725 and 2726) that was casing all the fuzz has now quiet down and is reseeding to a single quiet solar minimum spot. (see picture below)

Stay tuned!

Current conditions at the MDSR test station:

40m closed S7

30m open S5

20m open S4

15m open S1

10m closed S1
