Recently found this while searching the internet during lunch at work.  The popular EZNEC antenna modeling software is now free!  Roy Lewallen W7EL recently retired and made his Pro2 v7.0 free to all.  No more support from him but there are a plethora of Youtube videos and other sites that give advice and instruction.  Download it here:

So no more excuses for not designing that 47GHz beam antenna!

Eric,

Thanks. I had EZNEC6 DEMO but now have unrestricted version. I also
have 4Nec2. Don't do much designing but allows me to analyze existing
antenna (which are often not easy to measure).

47 GHz beam (is that a death lazee?).

10-GHz is highest I operate. Working on 25w 10-GHz eme for maybe next fall.

I'd also recommend AutoEZ - the catch is getting a copy of Excel to run it. If you're good with Excel it really opens up some amazing new possibilities since you can use formulas to define the geometry, do repeated runs changing different parameters in an automated way, and the optimizer is nothing short of amazing sometimes, just don't expect it to do magic.

Advanced Antenna Modeling book by ON5AU is also a gem, covers getting started to advanced use of these applications.

Between those and AC6LA's TL Details application, I have learned more about antennas, and how they work in the last couple of years than I ever imagined possible.
