Spaceweather.com had been expecting a geo-storm this evening. I saw a sharp rise in the solar wind speed late this afternoon and figured something would happen. Looked at the AU oval plot about 7PM and saw a nice red area, knew something was up. WWV 10MHz was just starting to warble then. 5 minutes later the AU warble was there. Heard weak SSB AU on 50125, then built up strong. Worked KB7DQH (CN87) 59A @ 0214Z. Also heard Paul, K7CW on SSB (already worked for the Contest.) Signals peaked about 60-degrees. No others were heard. AU signals were soon gone for the rest of the hour. Shut down at 0300Z.
Wish more had been on, really good conditions, if even for a short time.
