Eric,
We have the keys so the only problem will be if the road is washed out before we get to the top. The KBARA 147.28 repeater is on the top of Piles Peak and is in need of some attention. That is the real motivation for the trip. We will be in DN05. Hope to hear you,
Mark

Well, depending on where you are on the hill... The road over the top from
Walla Walla starts off in WA, but crosses into Oregon... more or less on
the
grid border. Of course, all the "good" operating points along the road
are on the Washington side of the line... By the time you get into Oregon
the road stuffs you into the trees and "behind" the peak, at least for
Portland-bound RF! If you have "keys to the hill" you could run up to the
topmost tower site... I have operated from the DN06 location from the
"pre-rover" Enterprise One back in 1998... That trip I was scouting
locations for Metrocall's Nationwide paging channel build-out. All that
equipment has been subsequently removed... Anyway, didn't have the tower
or
Yagis with me, or I could have had one heck of a run during that year's
432 sprint! Did work W7GLF on 75 meters phone though! Beware of
commercially generated RF! Lots of that up there...
Hope you work lots of stuff... Might give a listen from the Wet side!
Eric
