This was supposed to go out to the group yesterday, as well as James.
Thanks to Barry for getting things sorted out for me. Google kept
rejecting it yesterday. Bad day for internet companies maybe?
Congrats on the 222 EME qso's James and sounds like you have the station
working well. I know a lot of guys are anxiously awaiting OR as they
close in on WAS.
It's been more than 30 years since the last 222 WAS was worked, and only
10 have ever been completed, most in the 1st 5 years or so of the
1980's. The 1st one was Terry, W0VB, who went to HI to put that state
on the air. Looks like that will be the last one again for many,
including Marshall, K5QE. Oddly enough, it was not my last one, but
#47.....that "honor" went to FLA, which is an interesting story in itself.
Back in the day, Jim, K7ND, was the Washington provider on 220 Mhz EME.
I am now less than a Km from WA, though obviously not IN the state. I
can't even VISIT right now! I can easily SEE WA out the shack window.
Both Jim and I still have our gear from those days. Believe Jim's amp
was a pair of 4CX250's or similar, while mine is an 8877 amp. I last
operated 220 Mhz EME in the 2000-2007 time frame from FN02cw with 4 x
az-el 222-7wl's and that amp. All CW of course. The only active
stations at that time were Ray WA4NJP, Mike KL6M, and Grant VE6TA. All
three of those are still 222 EME active when they have some notice and
get the correct feed installed in their dishes. My 1981-84 antenna in
semi-northern Ontario (EN86) was 8 x CC 220B's. Pic is on my QRZ page.
I am working towards EME activity again, though slowly, but progress is
being made. I was planning to get on 2m EME again and have a go at
finally completing WAS on that band. I left Ontario in late 2007 with
48 worked. Nobody was active at that time from Utah or New Mexico.
But.....with the renewed interest in 222 EME, I find I am being drawn
once again to that band....always been my favourite. It would be fun to
chase a 2nd 220 Mhz WAS!
73 and best of luck with your expeditions!

Hello group,
I've been working on a /p 222 EME station the last few months, it's now
completed and running well.
With the station in the /p configuration I've run with 6 stns over the
last two mornings., was able to work 5 and give Washington State
initial's to 4 of the 5. Win! The station did great and ran for nearly 3
hours straight without issue.
I'll be activating Oregon on 222 EME in the next month or so and hope to
give out 222 #49 to a lot of folks.
The station consists of FT-897/ Locked Q5 XV/ODO LNA/Larcan KW sspa/ 2 x
DSFO-16's. Pretty basic and easy.
After the Oregon trip has been successfully completed I will be adding 2
more DSFO-16's for the full 4x / full steer array. Washington will have
a presence on 222 EME once again. (or maybe I'm wrong? anyone else
running 222 EME in WA?)
I have an M2 222-7wl no longer needed. If you are interested send an email.
