This Saturday is the ARRL VHF Contest

Members of the Hoodview ARC and Portland ARC will be operating in the ARRL September VHF contest this coming Saturday 9/13.

 

Location
We will be operating from Bald Peak, the highest point in the Chehalem Mountains.  Located in Yamhill County near the county line with Washington County, the summit at 1624 feet and is the highest point in the Willamette Valley.

 

Time
We plan to be on the air by 11 AM Saturday morning and operate most of the afternoon.

 

Callsign
We will be using the special call sign W7Q

 

Bands & Frequencies
We will be running multiple stations and plan to be on the following frequencies throughout the day...
6m SSB      50.125      Vertical polarization
6m FM      52.525       Vertical polarization
2m SSB      144.200    Horizontal polarization
2m FM      146.580     Vertical polarization

70cm SSB 432.100     Horizontal polarization
70cm FM  446.000    Vertical polarization
23cm SSB 1296.100  Horizontal polarization
23cm FM  1294.500  Horizontal polarization

Hi George. A few of us near Boise will also be operating in the contest. I need to move some antennas from the backyard to the front yard to avoid the neighbors barn to my west

I’ll be SO3B all modes 100w hopefully we can make a contact
