Subject: Re: Log deadline for August UHF Contest

Hi Bob2 et al,

Great idea, I'd LOVE to see 250 logs received eclipsed! If K0PG, K9ILT and KB9SKW were some of the folks you contacted Bob2, it has already worked, their logs just hit the queue so we are now at 170 Logs Received (updated Logs Received will be snet to Wayne shortly for him to put up on the web site when he can). I only made 9 contacts with six different stations but 4 of those 6 have submitted their logs, the two missing for me are: N0URW (who I am guessing is one of the 10 that Bob2 contacted) and W9ZIH (who Bob2 may have contacted but I know Ron and he's pretty adamant about not caring to submit logs - I appreciate any and all QSOs with Ron just the same ;-).

I am now home, discharged from the rehab center yesterday/Friday and am doing quite well. Up and moving, no pain, just being careful not to Bend, Lift or Twist and taking it easy. Thanks for any good thoughts you may have sent my way.

Despite part time access to the internet, I've been managing to keep up with the log receipt tracking as Wayne noted (actually daily...didn't have to let it slip to every other day) and it been great working with him for him to post the Logs Received reports to the web pages.

I've also been dabbling a bit with the log checking and it's looking pretty good. I'll also be trying to be a little more 'friendly' with log submitters, such as, if I see what looks like an 'oops' or a transcription typo, I drop a note with a hint to check that they didn't mistype something - can't go TOO crazy with that and that's mostly meant for more casual participants...'big guns' like Bob2, Wayne, Phil, etc. - no soup (help) for you ;-).

One 'output' of the log checking is a list of calls found for which a log has not been received and it includes a count of Qs by call. Presently that list shows about 350 calls so there are definitely a few candidates to get the 80 logs needed to reach 250 (and we DON'T have to stop at 250!). A few calls (with higher Q counts) on that list are: K1RZ (171), WW7D-R (143), N6TEB (86), K1GX (80), KC0P/R (76), N3NGE (60), N0HZO/R (57), W9ZIH (53), WA2LTM (52), K1PXE (40), WA2VNV (40), W1FKF (32), N1DPM (28), N2PA (27), K9MRI (26), WB0LJC/R (25).

I suspect Darryl (WW7D) will be getting his log in, as well as "Team Larson" (Mel, KC0P/R and Carol, N0HZO/R). If some of you know the Daves (K1RZ & N6TEB), Paul (K1GX), Len (N3NGE), Doug (WA2LTM), Pete (K1PXE), George (WA2VNV), Don (W1FKF), Fred (N1DPM), Joe (K9MRI) - they might be GREAT candidates to motivate to get their logs in. I'm also expecting/hoping that Gary, WB0LJC/R, will be sending me a paper log.

SO...anything that anyone within this 'network' and your further networks cares to try to rattle the cages for some more log submissions (even if just a single Q on a single band) is certainly invited and encouraged.

THANKS for reading and for all of your support to make the "39th UHF Contest" a success!

73, JK

HA!  I was working on my submission as this message was flying across the ethersphere.

It's been an exceptionally busy August, including getting married on the 24th.

I've written up my Limited Rover adventures here:  http://tinyurl.com/WW7DAugUHF2016

Best,
 Darryl
