70cm SPRING SPRINTS TODAY

1.0 Contest Purpose: Encourage weak signal VHF/UHF amateur radio operation & have fun.

2.0 Contest Date and Time:

432.1 MHz April 29, 2026. 2300z (4pm PDT) to 0600z (11pm PDT), operate no more than four hours between your first contact and your last contact.

5.0 Exchange: Maidenhead Grid Square. Ask nicely for 6 character grid.

Yesterday there was a good turnout in CN85 for the 70cm Sprint with activity from 10 stations. Considering that about a week ago there were 14 stations on the air for the 2m Sprint, the number of Qs for 70cm was kind of impressive. A lot of new folks to the band learned a few things about dial frequency vs. actual for many radios, and that it's troublesome but necessary to aim antennas.

I hope this bodes well for turnout for June VHF...
