What was meant to be a commentary about how illogical security decisions are forced on people who are Hams due to ignorance of Ham Radio has turned into a real free for all catfight and mudslinging match on QRZ.COM.

Questioning why fair and equal treatment cannot be had, has people going to the extremes.

Think middle of the road and respectfully commenting on what appears to be unequal treatment before reading all the commentary.

It's currently the First commentary on their site and has over 190 comments and climbing.
(maybe a dozen worth reading in the mess?)
See for yourself.

Aloha Tom,

Kind of sorry to hear your experience.

Also a bit sorry that you didn’t speak to NASA before you printed your article. Frommy stand point I hate to see anyone frustrated at NASA. Spreading distaste to a ‘society’ that has enough public problems already.

FRS radios and cell phones are on known frequencies. NASA knows Ham equipment is freq agile and on occasion (unknown to many) have been utilized to Tx way out of band. Not necessarily by Hams. Yet causeing very dangerous problems and errors to surrounding facilities and automation.

ANSWER: No Ham toys….simple.

Please reconsider your complaints and stop worrying too much about the Al-Quaida.

NASA is a fairly sharp place, I would not even consider ‘Blind Ignorance’, simply protocol you have likely overlooked.

I bet you still enjoyed your tour? Neat place indeed.
