The DEMI 3456-144 transverter works fine at 3400 with no modification.
I built one using a Apol-A32 PLL local oscillator. Nominal 2 dBm drive
from the A32 was too low so I boosted it to about +10 dBm by modifying
the PLL board output pi attenuator.
Probably easier to just add MAR6 mmic stage (typ gain of 12 dB) in line
for this. DEMI sells the mmic boards very inexpensive (specify which
mmic you want) and pretty easy to make.
I got 40 mw output from my 3456 transverter using LO of 1085 (x3 = 3255)
to use a 145-MHz IF. This frequency has less phase noise than 1085.333
needed for 3256 getting 144-MHz as IF.
