We are now less than a month from the PNW VHF Society Conference in Seattle. This is the first time in more than a decade it has been in the Seattle-metro area. We're hoping for a very large turn-out. If you would like a shirt for this year's conference, be sure to get your registration in by September 13th - just one week away. Kenny has a great Seattle-themed shirt design and will be placing the order so they arrive in time for the conerence.
Jessie has been working with the speakers and she has a fantastic agenda planned. We should be seeing it published soon. The conference announcement should also appear in this month's QST. Icom has stepped up again and has generously donated an IC-7000 HF+6m+2m+70cm mobile radio with IF DSP and a beautiful color screen.
Be sure to get your registration in and let your friends know about the conference. Registration info is available on the conference page at
http://www.pnwvhfs.org/conference.html. As always, membership remains $10 for a lifetime. Let's get some new members to the conference! How can a ham pass up deal like a $10 lifetime membership?
We are also looking for a couple new officers. I would like to thank Kenny KU7M (WWA Director) and Terry W7AMI (ID Director) for their service to the society. They have chosen not to continue so we need to find replacements. We are always looking for interested members in other areas and I would also like to identify someone interested in the President position. Please consider stepping up and let me know what you are interested in or if you have a nomination.
We're in the home stretch and looking forward to seeing everyone in a few weeks!
