New format for News page

I am very please to announce that with the change in web hosts I am redesigning and enhancing parts of the society website.  The first part of this is the shift away from the old style News page to the use of a blog style news page.

This will allow for much easier management of the rather lengthy news items page from both the webmaster standpoint as well as the user standpoint.  News items will no longer be deleted but will remain within the blog forever (well…for as long as "forever" means on the Internet).

Several categories of posts are now in place including one for Silent Keys.  These pages will remain as a memorial to our Silent Keys as we move forward in time.

I have no plans to go back and convert the entire News page to the blog.  I am however going back and adding the Silent Key announcements as time allows.

Most of the blog posts will NOT allow commenting but I will probably open the new Silent Key postings for a short period after their passing for their friends to add memories to the page; if we can keep the spammers at bay.

Because I am going back and picking up content these will appear at the top of the blog roll for awhile but eventually this will resume a more chronological order.

For those that use RSS readers you can now add the PNWVHFS News page to your RSS reader (link is at the bottom of the News blog page).
