This free webinar looks intriguing.  Tom Miles is a very knowledgeable
biomass engineer, also very supportive of biochar.  Dave O'Connor is
with EPRI, who are testing and studying torrefaction technologies.
David Frank of Sunwood Biomass is an installer of residential,
commercial and industrial biomass heating systems, with "more than
120" under their belt.

Register quickly, as these BTEC webinars do fill up.

Wednesday, December 14  at 1PM ET/10 AM PT.  Hear from the leaders in the
industry on their advanced technologies and what they visualize will be the
future for biomass thermal technology.  Dave O'Connor, torrefaction expert
has been added as a panelist for the webinar. This is the thirteenth webinar
in a 14-part series hosted by the Biomass Thermal Energy Council (BTEC), and
funded in part by the Forest Service's Wood Education and Resource Center
(WERC).

Event Description
Although  biomass heating systems are amongst the oldest form of energy
systems, manufacturers continue to  advance the technology for increased
convenience and safety. From fully  automated boiler systems to cutting edge
fuel processing, leaders in the  industry work unceasingly to improve their
products. This webinar  will provide an overview of system improvements
designed to meet evolving customer's needs and local  standards.
Additionally, it will provide an opportunity to hear state and federal
policy options and other  avenues to expand the biomass industry.

View this webinar and learn:
* The      most user-friendly residential heating technology
* Advanced      processes in torrefied fuel production
* Large      scale commercial design using different feedstocks
* How      these advanced technologies will promote the biomass thermal
industry

 Featured Speakers:
* Tom Miles, Consultant, T.R. Miles      Technical Consultants, Inc.
* David Frank, Co-founder, Sunwood Biomass

John-
at this point it looks like I'm going up to portland for a biz conference on wednesday, and shouldn't try to commit myself to this webinar. I would appreciate a discussion about it after the fact some time, or a recoding of some sort if that is possible.

I'm staying up in portland for a few days. it's my birthday on sunday, so I'm going on an adventure.  Sorry I havn't been chasing you down for conversation, though I suspect you are busy as usual and not bothered by me not bothering you.  There have been some great developments this week and several chance opportunity contacts from people at the university.
as always, you are welcome to call any time you like. (though I'm fairly booked up for tomorrow, includng very likely a meeting with the mayor.)

All the best to you- Dylan
