It’s truly heartbreaking to hear that PNLIT’s role at Puttenahalli Lake has come to an end. For over 15 years, you have shown what dedicated citizens, with integrity and love for nature, can accomplish.

In a time of growing water scarcity and climate stress, our lakes are lifelines. They recharge groundwater, cool our cities, and offer refuge to both people and wildlife. Protecting them is not a luxury — it’s a necessity.

PNLIT, along with other citizen groups across Bengaluru, has proven that when communities and civic bodies work together, real transformation is possible. Your efforts have inspired so many of us. The lake thrived under your care — and more importantly, a spirit of ownership and responsibility was seeded in the hearts of residents.

I sincerely hope BBMP continues to involve and support committed citizens in lake stewardship. After all, it is our shared responsibility.

Thank you, PNLIT, for being a beacon. You’ve not just nurtured a lake — you have nurtured hope

Warm regards
