Dear friends,

Earth Day holds a special significance for us at PNLIT. It was this occasion in 2010 which we had used to publicize BBMP's revival of our neighbourhood lake among the community. It brought us, residents, together, and two months later, we had registered our Trust, PNLIT. Our aim, then and now, was to support the BBMP in maintaining Puttenahalli Lake, with active involvement from local residents. After a successful 15-year stint, we had to step back from this role in July 2025. However, our efforts to enrich the green cover and sustain the lake as an avian hotspot and thriving natural habitat continue to yield strong results.

It is with great pride that we report that the latest bird species to nest at the lake is the Grey heron. Two of them built nests this year and it appears that the eggs have hatched as well. Bird watchers have sent some delightful photographs. A few are attached.

What better way to celebrate nature than for you to visit the lake and see these wonderful sights yourself? If you are not able to, you can see the Puttenahalli Puttakere checklists in these sites https://ebird.org/hotspot/L2583597?yr=all&m=nullhttps://www.inaturalist.org/projects/puttenahalli-lake

Earth Day greetings to all.
