Usha ji,  Namaste!  Greetings on the new year.  Based on what I remember the lake is being maintained by the City Govt (BBMP).  About Four weeks back,  I was in India and on a Saturday late morning I wanted to take a walk on the lake but the gates were locked . I was not sure what was going on , but saw BBMP boards at the entrance.

I am hoping BBMP is at least maintaining status quo.

Dear Upender, 

BBMP (GBA) took over lake maintenance in June 2025.  We would be immensely relieved if they do a better job than us to protect Puttenahalli Lake and enhance its biodiversity. Likewise, indeed, of all the lakes in the city.

Dear Usha,

An asset that you created over the last decade, now lies locked! This is probably a real life depiction of the Gita slokam: "karmanyeva adhikaraste maa phaleshu ....". 

My only hope that the lock is opened by BBMP and the keys handed back to those, whose efforts created this asset in the first place.

Of course, if wishes were horses .....

At any rate, to look ahead, let us hope that 2026 brings about more peace and good health to all around us.
