Dear All,
Based on feedback from several people, I understand that a significant number of people in this group are non-programmers who would like to learn basics of programming and that Saturday's session was too fast paced for them. I would be happy to help you in learning the basics from scratch while the rest of the group discuss specific programming scenarios in parallel. We can catch up with them slowly.
I am not here till 7th August and I have lab meets on Saturday afternoon. Please select the timings when you can attend the discussions here: http://doodle.com/myfeq8p52kxstidz Based on the votes, I will decide on twice-a-week schedule.

Dear All,
I will start with the "basics of programming for non-programmers" sessions from end of next week. So far 5 people have selected the timings when they can attend these sessions. And currently it looks like Mondays 18:00-21:00 and Saturday 18:00-21:00 are the most favored. If you would like to attend these sessions and find this timing inconvenient, please vote on your preferred timing at this link: http://doodle.com/myfeq8p52kxstidz You have till 7th to vote after which I will stick to the timing with most votes (we can still work out the timings if many have a problem).

Dear All,
The "Basics of programming for non-programmers" will be held at LH2 (Langra) on Mondays and Saturdays 6pm - 8pm (not 9pm). LH2 has been booked till end of October for the same. A few first year PhD students want to attend the sessions but their Lab practice sessions seem to clash with this timing. If that is truly the case, then I will postpone the start of the sessions to after 22nd August. Please check back around 11am today to see if the sessions start today at 6pm or after 22nd August.
