Fellow PNB Personnel committee members,

At this week's non-official meeting, we informally discussed the
items on the agenda, including the GM search process. We decided to
ask those of you at stations having a GM search to help us collect
some documemts we need. Marcel and Nia, who were on the call, said
they'd do that for their stations. Joe and Ricco, can you do the
same for your stations, or pass along this request to your LSB chair
or chair of the management search committee?

Please note that we'd like the following info in the next few days,
so we can review it before next Thursday's (rescheduled) meeting. If
you don't have it all, please send at least what you have. We don't
need long answers to most of the questions.

thanks--
Bill

The PNB Personnel Committee's GM Task Force is interested in finding
out what worked, and what didn't work in your Station's GM search.
Please give us a brief description of your search process and a
little history of your MASC/Search committee. Again, we're more
interested now in learning about the process and how that might help
those at other stations or in the future, when searching for a new GM
or Program Director.

Please send this back to all of us on the Personnel Committee by next
Monday, so we'll have time to look over it before our committee
conference call the following Thursday. If you don't have all the
info by Monday, just send what you have. Thanks.

History of your Management Search Committee:

Motion to establish your station's committee:

Qualifications to serve on committee:

Election of officers: (how it was done)

Job description: (if you got it from our HR director and did not add
or change anything on it, just say that.)

Drafting of GM Job Description - the process/how it was done

Approval of the final Description - the process/how it was done

Drafting GM Employment Ad:

Did you have any input in framing the ad for you Signal Area, If so, what?

Ad Placement:

How did your search committee decide which outlets to run ads in your area ?

How effective do you think your ads' placement were in attracting
the best Candidates ?

How long did the ads run before you had a broad enough pool of Candidates ?

Candidate Screening:

What determined the screening criteria ?

How many questions on your final screening form?

How effective do you think your screening form was?

Suggestions for Improving Process:

Finally: Did your process result in a successful hire?
