Hi, Carolyn,

"Official" Pacifica job descriptions for GMs and PDs are on the list of documents we've requested from Ahmad through Arlene. She requested that he provide them to us by Tue. of this week, at my request, so we'd have time to review them before tonight's meeting. I have not seen them yet, but just sent another reminder. Assuming we get that, I don't think we'll need to form a work group to create them, but if not then we may need a work group for either that or to send periodic reminders.

Re: GM for WBAI, is it now in Arlene's lap? I assume your search committee and LSB don't need to do anything else?

Also, congratulations on your election.

Bill

Then individual search committees can add on specs suitable for their own stations. Would you (the Personnel Committee) consider creating a work group to come up with a job description for the Foundation's PDs that could be used by all stations, and then kept as the basis for an evaluation process?

Thank you, Bill: nice to hear people are ahead of me on this. I wonder, however, if there are any docs to forward to you!

If you do form a work group, WBAI has a great evaluation process for PD - we actually tried to use it to evaluate our former PD, but the results were hijacked by a supporter of the PD and ended up in her apartment, never to be seen again.  However, the template and questions and protocols still exist, and could even be used to work backwards and construct a job description if necessary.

Another source of info is the hiring letter signed by each new PD - it should contain detailed items, deadlines, responsibilities.

Yes, we are awaiting the ED's decision on a GM.

And thanks for the congrats: mixed feelings these days about jumping into the fray again, I must say.
