Problem:
We have failed to achieve quorum at the last two times we've tried to
have PNB Personnel committee meetings -- on Oct. 18 and 28. We also
cancelled the Oct. 4 meeting (and rescheduled it for the 18th)
because it was the day after the NY in-person PNB meeting. I heard
from one of you just before the Oct. 18 meeting about not being able
to attend, and who indicated that it might be best to get a
replacement representative from that station for this committee, but
I don't remember hearing from others who haven't made it to the last
two meetings. Marcel and I called and left messages last night for
committee members who were not present but I haven't heard back from
you yet so don't know what the problem is.
Our next regular monthly committee meeting is scheduled for this
coming Monday, Oct. 1. However, I don't want to waste everyone's
time again if we're not going to reach quorum, and I plan to cancel
the meeting if I don't get confirmation from those of you who missed
the meetings in Oct. that you can participate then.
Requests:
1. (MOST IMPORTANT) Please reply to this e-mail by tomorrow
afternoon (Saturday) and let me know if you plan to participate in
Monday's conference call. If we're not going to have quorum again,
then I'll cancel the meeting and we'll try getting the committee work
done via e-mail and work group conference calls, and then we can just
take (as individuals) any recommendations we have to the PNB.
2. If you don't feel you can continue to participate actively in the
committee for the rest of the year (until January), and wish to
resign so someone else can step up to take your place, please let us
(and other Directors) know ASAP. That way your station won't go
un-represented and we can continue with the work of the committee.
There won't be any hard feelings. I know everyone has other
priorities and we're all involved with numerous committees on the PNB
and activities at our own stations.
3. If you don't have time to help create or get an org chart for
your station (as we've discussed in several e-mails), then please
pass along the request to your GM and/or LSB chair or another
Director from your station, and let us know that.
4. It will be time for our ED's annual review next month. Should we
make any changes to the survey we sent out this spring? And can you
help with it? We need volunteers from the committee to help with
this if it's going to happen (and same for the CFO evaluation survey
which we should complete in January).
5. Please let us know whether you can participate in the CFO job
description re-write -- something that's been on the agenda for at
least two months, and which we should do before the next CFO
evaluation survey. Marcel, Nia, and I have volunteered to help with
this. Anyone else?
Note: The last ED evaluation survey and current CFO job description
are at http://groups.google.com/group/pnb-personnel/files
thanks, everyone --
Bill

I don't want to kick anyone off who wants to be on the committee. I was just wondering, for anyone who felt they could not effectively participate in the committee, if they wanted to resign. One member has already indicated he might do that.

Understood. No problem.
I have not heard back from anyone other than the committee members who made it to the last two attempts to have a PNB Personnel committee meeting.
See my original message at the bottom below, in case you missed it, as it summarized the problem we've been having getting quorum, and some requests for all of you.
We can work on what we need to do via e-mail and work groups. Marcel and Nia have already volunteered -- anyone else?
