Hey,
May 2025, someone will be back to troubleshoot a Dyson vacuum.
They purchased a new non-dyson battery, that appeared to be DOA.
Basically, the vacuum wouldn’t do anything. Lights on the old battery (with ~60% charge) would come on, but nothing else.
We couldn’t do much more with all the T8? screws.
After watching:

At 41:55, the narrator says ‘if your trigger is faulty, which is one of the problems Dyson’s do have’, but doesn’t elaborate on what the fault is.
Further searches indicate the trigger is a long complex shape that breaks easily. Amazon has an aluminum replacement for under $15. But the SV## is required to order the proper one.
It is not trivial to remove the trigger assembly. The trigger doesn’t feel like it is doing anything when you squeeze it, so this may be the issue.
At 49:55, the narrator also mentions that the trigger may not work if not fully seated from the bottom…
My guess is this will be a 30-45 min operation.
