Good Afternoon !!!
I am sure many of you might have already passed PMP.
For me it took almost a year to sit in exam due to family and my little toddler, So, First thing I did was , send my family back to home country so that I can concentrate on preparation :D
Nevertheless, I am very happy to inform you that I passed PMP exam today at first try.
Below are some of my lesson's learned for the exam.
1. Started preparing about 2 months back but fast tracked it one month
prior to the exam.
2. Used online SkillSoft Training Material ( Approximate 70-80 hours spent)--> The skillsoft videos provides real life examples and explain how these are used however they are quite lengthy and tedious.
3. Read Rita's PMP Exam Prep (skimmed in second pass) ( Approximate 30-40 hours spent)
4. Read PMBOK 5th edition twice(skimmed in second pass). ( Approximate 30-40 hours spent)
5. Used Rita's Audio PMP Collection daily while driving from-or-to office.
6. Understood the ITTO's without memorizing them.
7. Took Sample exams from PMP Fast Track (Rita), Oliver
Lehmann, Skillsoft and CertGear. The questions in the exam is
situational and closely resembles to what Rita's Fast Track provides.
8. On Fast Track scored 80-85%, Oliver 78%, CertGear- 84%.
9. Try to focus on concept building and not cramming the answers of
wrong questions as in the exam you will not find exact questions as
given in book.
10. Do not take Professional and social responsibility chapter lightly.
This may look easy but it can be confusing during the exam.
11. One day before the exam , I completed the revision using "Rajesh Nair PMP Notes" which really helped me summarizing what I learnt .
I would be more than happy to help anyone in need. Thanks.
Thanks,
