Software Extension to the PMBOK® Guide Fifth Edition

The “Software Extension to the PMBOK® Guide Fifth Edition” is available for public review. It is hosted by PMI, but you do not need to be a PMI member to access the draft though you do need to apply for an account. This is the first full exposure of the draft that was completed earlier in the year. It was initiated and reviewed by some leading industry experts and is now being made publicly available for the first time.

So if you have an interest in how the PMBOK Guide should be augmented/modified for software projects take a look and submit you comments and perhaps even get acknowledged and credited for your efforts. The Exposure Draft of this standard will be open on 10 December 2012 and available until 10 January 2013.

This coincides with the upcoming release of the PMBOK 5th edition due out in January 2013. I plan to review it in detail and will write about it more in the future.
