I want to know:
What's the difference between Quality Assurance and Quality Control?
What's the difference between Resource Levelling and Critical Chain method?
What's the difference between Project charter and SoW?
What's the difference between Exploit and enhance risk responses?
What's the difference between Progressive Elaboration and Rolling Wave
Planning?
What's the difference between Project plan and project management plan?
What's the difference between Effective communication and Efficient
communication?
What's the difference between Work Performance Information and
Performance Report?
What's the difference between Smoothing and Compromising in Conflict Management?
What's the difference between Gold Plating and Value adds to Client?
What's the difference between Procurement Performance Review,
Inspection and Audit and Procurement audit?

I think you will find this link (that helped me a lot during my study) will be very helpful in answering some of the questions below:
Once you browse through the confused concepts let us know which ones you still have issues with.

Dear Mad and Chahal,

This is my opinion (any one CMIIW)

Quality assurance is all the activities you do to make sure the product will match the quality defined.

Quality control is the activity to check is the product produced match the quality defined.

Resource Levelling basicly is the way you optimize your resource by optimizing idle resource to do other activity that can be done now but used to be done in the future

Critical chain method is the way you define how long your project will take by defining the longest squential activities from all of your project activities. This need your understanding as a project manager to define what must be done before the next activity can be done. Usually you need subject matter expert to define this or from the previous (almost) same project's lesson learned documents.

In project charter you define the high level requirements, main purpose of the project, background, high level budget (funding), project constraints, project manager assigned.

In SoW, you define all the in scope and out scope of your project in details. So make sure you and your client have the same understanding in this document. Usually SoW defined in then contract.

Rolling wave is the methodology of a project by only planning the current phase of project activities only. Then next phase's activities will be planned after the current phase has been done completely. Usually this take place for software development (siftware house company)

Gold Plating is giving yout client of project something more than defined on the SoW only to please the user.

Jerry

I want to add this in PMBOK stated:
"Perform Quality Assurance also provides an umbrella for continuous process improvement, which is an iterative means for improving the quality of all processes. Continuous process improvement reduces waste and eliminates activities that do not add value. This allows processes to operate at increased levels of efficiency and effectiveness."

I think the mean reason why you do Quality Assurance is continues process improvement!!!
