Hi All

Could someone pls point me or share some sample paper which looks similar to actual PMP exam in terms of complexity / difficulty level of questions. I have given some sample papers , few are easy and I am scoring above 75% but few are really tough and I hardly manage to score 65%

So I am confused what is the level of exam. How should I find that. Any pointers to that would be highly appreciated. Attached is the sample paper that I gave and I find it easy.

Thanks
Amit

HI
Level of PMP questions are stright forward and based on PMBOK. So do not worry, work hard and practice more and more questions.

Please see my LL posted few months back. However you can adjust u r schedule as per u r time. But I do advise that once you start reading do not break and do not read many reference book (choose only one) and practice more and more.....

Here it's my LL;

(1). I have attended workshop to get 35 contact hours (mandatory as per PMI) without doing followings;

-       Becoming PMI member,

-       And w/o pre-studying PMBOK + reference guide book (I selected RITA’s book).

LL- It is better to first become member of PMI. (which I didn’t follow but I suggest that if you are 100% sure to go for PMP then and then only start preparing otherwise re-plan as per your wish). It’s better to check PMI website thoroughly after you become PMI member. Spare some time on it. Generally many candidates miss this.

LL – It is better to read PMBOK and selected reference guide (and make notes of difficulties during first reading) before attending 35 hours contact workshop, because it is more advisable.

I strongly recommended this to all aspirant of PMP.

Surely it will make workshop or training session more interactive and interesting.

You will able to solve doubts or problems during session with faculty.

(2). I did not keep regular touch with faculty and R.E.P. after workshop.

LL - That If I would have in touch with my R.E.P. and faculty (though I had their contacts but forgot), it would have helped me lot to solve some problems during preparation. Because  “EXPERT JUDGMENT” is very useful.

(3). I submitted application in anticipation that it will not require audit (normally majority aspirants follow same assumption)

LL – it is better for  aspirants to pre-plan actions for audit if it occurs on your application.

(4).  I suggest  -  Make sure of all latest and new updates by PMI - about terms, PMBOK version, exam pattern etc. before applying to exam. Every things available on pmi.org. Recently there are very important changes are coming up by PMI about PMBOK version, exam schedules and re-scheduling etc.Which will sure affect your PMP exam plan.

(5). I ignored Knowledge Center   of PMI website at starting.

LL I suggest  -  to be most use of Knowledge Center. You will get very important things like good reference books, more than 1500 practice questions etc in eread and reference column.

(6). I came across many free practice questions from different sources.

LL I recommend to practice MOST updated and reliable sources for practice test.

I have tried – Paid one - PMP FasTrack by RMC – good collection of about 1400 questions of different types of situational types, I have tried Paid One - http://www.pm-exam-simulator.com – very good for practice and helps you to improve speed in exams,

In addition I have tried Free tests - PM Study, Lahman, Head First, Ferndale’s, PMI practice test, Kim Heldman (very good situational ones but in exam you cannot find questions of this level – difficult ones), On Line tests from my R.E.P., Questions from RITA’s book etc. I have practiced about 5000 different questions.

(8). How was exam?

When I entered exam center, I was confident to pass exam.

LL – I observed that majority of questions are easy to understand. They are based on PMBOK straightway. I could no find single questions out of scope of PMBOK. But PMI often insists on situational questions. There were some good questions based on formula but easy to understand and answer correctly.

I strongly recommend understanding concepts of Projects processes and practicing more questions. Initially I have overlooked Data Flow Diagram – but  I strongly suggest to understand all Data Flow Diagram for all processes this will help you to solve most of questions.

Because it is based on fundamentals and concepts of Project Processes.

Make habit to look at to Data Flow Diagram more frequently and understand its magic!

(9). Last but not least – To PMP exam is not difficult for those who read and follow systematic methods.

However you may find some wrong opinion about exam, just be positive and keep confidence higher…you will definitely pass exam if you are well prepared!

The mail important point is 72 seconds – time limit - which may cause you to select incorrect answer!

Plase do not just have goal to pass exam but to be a Good and perfect Project Management professional in real world!

So, keep all required arms and be prepared, victory will be yours!

All the Best.
