Hi Arunmallan,
Submitting the application is not as much work as it is made out to
be. I recall one of co-workers had mentioned it took her almost 2
weeks to complete the application. The thought of sitting through the
application process was more daunting than actually completing it. It
took me 2 hours 20 minutes of concentrated effort (no TV nor music) to
complete it. I averaged approx. 5 minutes per project. Thanks to the
tip of obtaining the project report with hours from the time tracking
system in advance. It helped. Also created a standed verbiage of the
project responsibility which we need to complete after every project
input. Sharing with you. Feel free to leverage.
This is exactly 500 words with punctations as required by PMI.
"I was involved from Initiation phase to Closure. My duties included
building the functional and technical teams; creating WBS, project
schedule, and financial documents. Manage the teams, assign the tasks,
and communicate status to all stakeholders through the project life
cycle. Manage and mitigate risks through the PLC. Monitor tasks to
meet the defined metrics. Created Project Closure documents, conducted
Lessons Learned session with internal and vendor teams and performed
scope verification."
One lesson learned that I would share is concentrate on the projects
that you managed which do not overlap the months. Thia way you may
finish the application sooner if you meet the 36 required months. For
3 of my overlapping projects, the application awarded me zero
qualified months.
Hope this helps in completing the application. I was fortunate not to
get audited with my application. From what I understand this is a
completely random process.
All the best.
Fai!
