In my experience (2 times for the exam, one is successfully failed, and the last one i passed the exam), managing time is the key factor for the exam

I have never done project management and have worked very hard for in past 2.5 months (put in ~500 hours to prepare myself for the exam, practiced over 2500 sample questions) I'm confident that I will "Pass", will share with you all the results very soon.

Prometric did not allow me to sit for the exam... as per them there was some discrepancy in the identity proof that I showed, I had another one with me which according to them can be served as a Secondary proof of identification, Prometric did not consider that one too… I tried my best to convince that I was the same person but they did not listen at all and I had to walk out of the center with shattered dreams and tears in my eyes. I live in Bangalore and (unfortunately) there is only one center available here.

 

Issue:  While booking the slot for the exam I gave my full name i.e. First, Middle and Last name and the document (Passport) that I showed as my ID proof had my First and Middle name on it. They told me that I was not the same person who booked the slot and they can’t allow me to sit for the exam (it’s ridiculous, isn’t it?).

 

I had my Employee ID with me (which according to their confirmation e-mail is a valid secondary ID proof) and that has my full name (exactly what they wanted) printed on it but they did not even consider looking at the same.

 

Money is not the matter, I have lost one of my attempts but I will go for it again and get my PMP credentials. Once done with my certification, I will take legal actions against Prometric as they do not know their own rules and have caused me monetary and psychological damage.

During my preparations (1st Innings) I tried over 2500 sample questions... for my second Innings, I'm unable to find anymore mock exams/questions online. If anyone can help me with as many FREE or PAID exams (that are worth) I would like to go for them.

Hi All,

as per the PMP handbook - for prometric centre identification purpose ---
Valid - drivers licence, passport, military id, national identity card
- are acceptable

- I have a quick question here

What could be national identiy card in India - is it Voters identity
card, PAN card or both is ok?

Why I am asking the question is - when i just checked I have noticed
that my drivers license and passport - both have expired and I have no
time to renew them as I am already struggling btween my job and PMP
preparation.

Can anyone throw light in the above?

They will check everything, and if there have "ANY" doubts they may stop you from sitting in the exam (happened with me already).

No matter if you beg, cry or do whatever they wont listen to you (I'm not scaring you, I'm trying to tell you the truth)... do something about it when you have time... if you are 2 days into the exam, nothing can be done then.

Try everything and if nothing is possible (as the exam is already scheduled now), get your exam postponed by paying (INR 4-5K) that will help you change your name/address as per your ID proof also save your INR 22000 on top of that you will have your peace of mind.

Act fast!!!

The question is - as per PMP handbook, the candidates name should be exactly on the acceptable id cards which are (primary identification card with photo)

1. drivers license

2. Passport

3. Military Id

4. National Identity card

Hence my question is whether voters identity card will serve the purpose or not?

Your answer is in your question. If the ID (that you are talking about) is from one of the Primary/Secondary IDs (as per PMP Handbook) then you are good... else you need to get one of the listed IDs.

For solid information please contact Prometric they are the best as they will scrutinize on the exam day.

Thanks for the explanation. Yes I think I need to check with the
prometric centre only as pmp handbook is not clearly defining the
meaning of the last option"national identity". (Basically - I was
just checking if anyone has attended the exam only with Vote id as
primary id and company id as the secondary id). i think it was never
a topic of discussion earlier - as everyone these days will be having
at least a valid driving licence or passport or PAN card - with your
name exactly in your records. The biggest lessons learnt is that - to
have your documents updated in always consistent manner so that no
confusion arises.

I believe you can change the name yourself i.e. when you schedule for the exam it will ask you for your name... in order to be sure please speak with PMI and/or Prometric.

@Mohan: I agree with you that one exam will not decide your management skills and PMP is not everything, at the same time I agree with Firoz that everything in your life teaches you something and learning is a continuous process.

Looks like you had some bad experience that made you think this way, working hard and achieving your target is what you can do - rest is all destiny, don't be negative as negativity will not do any good... cheer-up and fight the situation you are in, you will be a much stronger and much more successful than you are at the moment.

Having the PMP certification will prove that you know what project management is all about and also proves that you are industrious (as PMP requires a lot of hard-work). Having a PMP certification is considered to be an achievement.

I will be very happy when I will get my PMP certificate!!! (and that's going to happen soon)
