Harsh,
Before 2009 (approx) one need to score 61% to pass the PMP exam.
However, as of now PMI is not specifying how much one needs to score
to pass the PMP exam.
Now you may be wondering that how PMI decide & declare a pass or a
fail result.
I don’t know exactly, how PMI do this. However, I know that PMI
evaluate a test taker in five domains (i.e. five process groups) as
proficient / moderately proficient / below proficient. That means as
a test taker your performance is being evaluated against a pool of
thousand other past test takers for each domain.
As a industry standard, it is being stated that if a candidate
consistently score over 80% in a variety of available mock test in
his/her FIRST attempt then s/he good chances of passing the actual PMP
exam.
Hope this answers your question and anxieties and will help you to
focus more on PMBOK and PMIism.
