- We need to understand the importance of baseline. What ever might be the reason the team wants to compress the schedule. To compress the schedule we have 2 techniques. fast tracking and crashing. Crashing is done by adding additional resources. That means additional cost.
As per the requirements, we need to crash 4 weeks.
Look at the options over there. You can crash with task F alone. But the additional cost would be $18,000.
Take activities D and E - the additional cost will be $6000 but you can crash only 3 weeks.
Other options E+A=4 weeks $7000, E+C = 4 weeks = $9000.
Consider option A+C you can reduce the schedule by 4 weeks and can additional cost would be $6000 only.
This is the lowest possible option.
