I would like to draw members’ attention to the very useful and recently revised:

Encyclopedia of Shinto Chronological Supplement
with transliterated titles and terms, and English explanations. No Japanese characters, but those can be found in the Japanese version.

Clicking on the Digital Museum link embedded here will bring you to the searchable PDF (2016 revised) for download; paper bound copies can be requested from the contact information provided there.
From the page:
Appendixes
Chronological Supplement
Chronological Supplement
Chronological Supplement in Encyclopedia of Shintō.

There are two versions of PDF. The older version is published online in September, 2014, which is intended to be viewed online or printed in A4 (or LTR) paper.

The newer version is based on the paper version published in February, 2016, which has some corrections and is optimized for A5 paper format. If you are interested in the paper version, please contact to IJCC.

Thank you for noticing!  Drafting an announcement that we had published the volume was near the top of my agenda for the new academic year that, in the case of Kokugakuin, just began today.

Incidentally, we are hoping to bring at least a modicum of better organization to the EoS and the Digital Museum website in general in the coming year, and welcome ease-of-use suggestions from end users.  We're especially hoping for ideas about how to make the site easier to navigate for visitors with limited or non-existent Japanese skills (bearing in mind that we're aware sections of it can be difficult even for visitors with native-level Japanese skills).  Please direct any comments to the 問い合わせ section on the website--I'm at Kokugakuin only once a week as it is and have a very busy schedule with other work away from the university.

Hmm . . . for that matter, if someone wishes to start a *separate thread* to catalogue suggestions for the EoS and Digital Museum website in general--including EoS translation revisions--feel free to do so.  I certainly monitor this list.  I haven't talked with him recently about it, but I think Professor Havens who coordinated the initial EoS translation project is a subscriber, too.  Obviously, given my very limited schedule there's no saying how quickly any of your recommended changes may be reflected in the online texts, but having a list of items that specialists have noticed will help for whenever the time comes that various issues may finally be addressed.  I should hasten to note that for obvious reasons we are (. . . well, right now for all intents and purposes *I am* . . .)  constrained with having to edit the translations based on what is in the 神道辞典 (the latest printing with further revisions--I think the 12th?  I don't have a copy at home with me so cannot check right now--came out last year) so if your argument is with an interpretation rather than a translation issue unfortunately I at least cannot help you.

Best,

Dear Cynthea-san, Carl-san, and list members,

Thank you for the posts! We just published the chronology booklet at the end of February, uploaded the PDF, and are now thinking about sending it, as well as about making an announcement.

While I wrote that "please contact to IJCC" in the page below:

http://k-amc.kokugakuin.ac.jp/DM/detail.do?class_name=col_eos&data_id=78181

I realized that there is no detailed contact information on that page. If you are interested in obtaining a copy, please let me know off-list:

hoshin...@kokugakuin.ac.jp

Additionally, as Carl-san posted, we are trying to improve EOS and the Digital Museum website. We appreciate your comments and suggestions regarding them.

Best wishes,

Does anyone have the contact details for David A. Hall, author of “Marishiten".
Please remember not to reply to the whole list.

Me again.
Can anyone put me in contact with David A. Riggs, who wrote on Menzen Zuiho a few years ago?
