This program is open to non-Japanese applicants who meet one of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program (Master’s or PhD) in Japanese Studies or a related field outside Japan.
- Have completed a graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in Japanese Studies or a related field (including faculty).
- Currently enrolled as an international student in a graduate program (Master’s or PhD) in Japan.
Program Dates: February 16 – March 6, 2026
Application Deadline: October 31, 2025
Support Provided: Round-trip international airfare, lodging, and in-country transportation in Japan are covered for participants. Please see the application guidelines for details.
Participants will attend lectures by specialists and take part in field trips to significant archaeological, cultural, and historical sites, including the Ise Jingu shrine complex.
