Announcing the launch of Japan Past & Present's Global Conferences Database 世界の学会データベース

On behalf of Japan Past & Present, we are excited to announce the launch of our Global Conferences Database 世界の学会データベース, a filterable database of regularly-held events in Japan Studies and Asian Studies. We hope that this tool will provide more opportunities for premodernists and others to share their work at conferences and symposia around the globe.

Japan Past & Present is pleased to announce the launch of its new Global Conferences Database, a filterable list of more than 150 regularly held conferences, symposia, and workshops related to Japan Studies and Asian Studies from all around the world. This resource will help scholars discover an array of academic venues where they can gather with colleagues to share research, network, and engage in professional development. We believe that making information broadly and easily accessible in this way is crucial to fostering greater equity among Japan specialists on a global scale.

Whether you are a student, postdoctoral fellow, instructor, artist, information specialist, NPO staff member, or other specialist interested in pursuing opportunities in the Japanese humanities, you are sure to discover many useful resources on this page. In addition to keyword searches, the JPP Global Conferences Database also allows users to filter hits by location, language, frequency, membership, and more.
We are grateful to the members of our Concept Development Team—Andrea Boccardi, Daniel E. Josephy-Hernández, Akino Oshiro, and Stephanie Santschi—for their hard work conceptualizing the database and gathering the initial data.
While we have worked hard to make the database as comprehensive as possible, including information about events in all different languages and locations, it will always be a work in progress: if you believe we have missed a relevant conference or symposium, or notice that information about a conference is no longer current, please reach out via the contact form to let us know.

ジャパン・パスト＆プレゼント（JPP）は、このたび新たに「世界の学会データベース」を公開したことをお知らせいたします。本データベースは、世界各地で定期的に開催されている日本研究およびアジア研究に関連する150以上の学会、シンポジウム、ワークショップを一覧化し、絞り込み機能を設けてまとめたものです。研究成果の共有や人脈づくり、、専門性の向上のための多彩な学術的交流の場を見つけることもできます。こうした情報を広く、かつ誰もがアクセスしやすい形で提供することは、世界規模で、より公平な環境を研究者たちの間に築くうえできわめて重要であると、私たちは考えています。
