New book

I am delighted to announce the publication of my new book, shown here. The central five chapters form an extensive study of the multiplicity, circulation and significance of manuscript books in the Edo period. I am much indebted to Yoshida Yūsuke, the dynamic head of Benseisha, who has gone above and beyond what is customary for a publisher so as to ensure that the text reads smoothly. Any errors or awkward expressions that remain are of course entirely my responsibility.
