Online registration is now open for Japan Past & Present’s symposium, "Humanistic Approaches to the Study of Premodern Japanese Law," to be held at UCLA with virtual streaming from September 26–27, 2025. We are excited to host speakers and guests from a variety of disciplines to discuss the complex intersections and fluid boundaries between law, culture, and the humanities in premodern Japan.
