See below for a note from my colleague at UCI, Mimi Long.

Note that the current search is for someone teaching Japanese and/or Korean; we are hoping to have searches for tenure track positions in premodern Japanese literature and East Asian Buddhism next year.

Dear Colleagues,

Please share the job ad below with students or colleagues who might be interested and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

My department (East Asian Studies at UC Irvine) aims to bridge our language and "content" curricula with this new hire in applied linguistics. This is a Professor of Teaching position. As a Senate faculty member, our new colleague will attend faculty meetings, get the same health and retirement benefits (excellent in UC system) and be eligible for UCI faculty housing (half market rate, 10 minutes from the beach!)

Sincerely,
Mimi Long

Associate Professor, Japanese Literature
Department of East Asian Studies
University of California, Irvine

PS. We hope to be hiring an assistant professor in premodern Japanese literature at this time next year. Feel free to contact me abou that as well.
