Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The Tenth Summer School in Early Modern Japanese Paleography at the University of Cambridge (Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies and Emmanuel College) is now accepting applications. The theme for 2023 is “Entertainers and Entertainments in Early Modern Japan.” Alongside the core tuition we have a number of exciting activities which also feature a fresh collaboration with rakugo master Tatekawa Shinoharu (in person!) and various guest lectures.

The School will run from 31 July 2023 to 11 August 2023 (so that it does not overlap with the EAJS conference).

All details and the application form can be found HERE. The deadline for applications is 15 January 2023

This year again we have a discount for undergraduate and master's students.

I would be most grateful if you could share the information widely among your students and colleagues.

With all good wishes,
Laura Moretti
