The Sainsbury Institute Librarian, Hirano-san, would like to announce the third Kotenseki Online Seminar jointly organised by NIJL and EAJRS.

The National Institute of Japanese Literature (NIJL) and the European Association of Japanese Resource Specialists (EAJRS) are pleased to invite you to the third Kotenseki Seminar.

This year, we will explore Japanese publishing and distribution from the late Edo to the early Shōwa.

Our speaker will discuss how Japan’s publishing industry and culture evolved following the opening of the country.
