I would like to draw your attention to an upcoming online event hosted by the Society for the Study of Japanese Religions (SSJR):

“A Shinto Priest in Wartime: A Virtual Book Talk with Helen Hardacre (Harvard University)”

In this talk, Professor Helen Hardacre will present her recent book Shinto Shrines in Prewar and Wartime Japan (Harvard University Press, 2025), offering an overview of her findings along with a closer examination of materials concerning a shrine priest during the Pacific War. The event will be hosted by Dana Mirsalis (Pacific University).
