guidance for pmp certification

hi friends,

i am a civil engineer with 15 years experience and also a volunteer member of the pmi mumbai chapter.

i wish to take the pmp certification.

can someone tell me how and what to study in order to clear the certification exam?;

can you also tell me how much time is required for studying for this exam?

will i need to take leave from my full time job in order to study for it?

Answer 1 :    Does your  15 years experiance includes Project Management Experiance  ?

                    One of the mandatory condition for applying for PMP Certification examination is :

                    Candidate must   have  minimum 4500 hours project management experiance.

 

i wish to take the pmp certification.

Answer 3 :  TO clear the certifiction exam , you have to apply for the same .

              Second mandatory condition is you must attend 35 Hours PMBOK contact learning .

            You can attend this training with PMI Mumbai chapter on payment of their requisite donation.

            What to study will be suggested during chapter's training.

Answer 4 :  How Much time depend up on your experiance in project management and your maturity level on the subject.

            There are candidates who passed withing 14 days on compelting their traing and applying for the exam immediately.

will i need to take leave from my full time job in order to study for it?

Answer :  You can plan for  four to six week reading post attending training.

No Need to take leave.  two hours a day for six  week should be enough if you have confidence.

 

    Let me warn you After applying for examination  you application may or my not selected for Audit. If it is selected than it is  it will cnsume you r minimum two week to prepare and submit  documents. after that it will take another one more week to get clear approval for appearing for examination.
