Hi all,

I'm trying to find out whether the memory that my server vendor plans to put into my server will be
compatible with Optane DCPMM. I have my doubts that this particular memory will work but we can't
find anyone to clarify. Can someone here help? Obviously we will provide details on the
configuration if someone is interested.

Thanks!

So long as the DDR is ECC and meets the vendors requirements for the server/workstation, you should be okay. On Cascade Lake, the DDR4 will likely be clocked down to 2667MT/s to match the 100 Series frequency. The CPU SKU determines the maximum capacity supported (1TB or 4TB). On Ice Lake, the CPU SKU determines the frequency - 2667, 2933, 3200 MT/s. Optane 200 Series will run at any frequency, and Intel removed the memory capacity so all Xeon CPU SKUs should support up to 6TB.

If your inquiry isn't related to frequency or capacity, please provide more info.
